Repricer Simulator ( How to Use Guide )

Test how SmartRepricer would price your products before it ever touches a live listing.

Testing a change to a repricing strategy used to mean applying it to real listings and watching what happened, with real consequences if it didn't behave as expected. The Repricer Simulator removes that risk: it shows you exactly how a strategy would price a product using live marketplace data, without ever sending anything to Amazon or changing your actual listing.

This article covers where to find the Simulator, how to run one, and how to manage your results. For a refresher on strategies themselves, see SmartRepricer Strategies.

What the Repricer Simulator Does

The Repricer Simulator uses the latest available Amazon data for a selected product, together with your chosen Strategy and Min/Max values, to calculate how that strategy would behave under current market conditions without making any changes to your actual listings or sending new prices to Amazon.

With it, you can:

  • Compare how different strategies would price the same product.

  • Adjust strategy settings and see how the result changes.

  • Test different Min and Max values.

  • Better understand why a strategy would choose a particular price.

  • Build or refine a strategy until its behavior matches your expectations.

Note: Simulations are read-only. No values are sent to Amazon, and your actual product configuration is never changed.

Where to Locate

Click Repricer Simulator in the menu on the left side of your SmartRepricer screen, between Repricing History and Reports.

Running a Simulation

From the Repricer Simulator page, click + New Simulation in the upper right.

A "Simulations are read-only. Your live prices are never changed." banner confirms that nothing here touches your account. From here, choose between two modes:

Single ASIN

Search for and select a single product to simulate.

Bulk

Add products one at a time. Each is queued as its own single simulation. The newest stays open; earlier ones collapse.

Once you select a product, choose a Strategy from the dropdown, set your Min Price / Max Price (see Min / Max Price Options below), and click Start Simulation.

Once the simulation has processed, open it to view the pricing details and the resulting repricing decision — not just the resulting price, but how the selected strategy behaved for that product based on the latest available marketplace data.

Min / Max Price Options

When setting up a simulation, choose between two ways of setting your Min and Max Price:

Use Existing Values

SmartRepricer retrieves the Min and Max values currently assigned to the product through its existing strategy configuration, so you can simulate its current setup without re-entering anything.

Enter Manually

Type a custom Min and Max for this simulation only, without changing the product's actual configuration.

Simulation Queue

Simulations are processed through a queue. If a product already has a simulation waiting or currently being processed, you cannot start another simulation for the same product until the existing one completes. This prevents duplicate simulations for the same product from running at the same time.

Simulation History

Previous simulations are logged and remain available from the Repricer Simulator page. Search your simulation history to return to earlier simulations and review their results particularly useful when testing different strategy configurations over time and comparing how changes affect repricing behavior.

Why This Is Useful

Until now, testing a change to a repricing strategy could eventually require applying it to real products and observing how the repricer behaved. The Repricer Simulator gives you a safer, faster feedback loop - making it easier to understand SmartRepricer's pricing decisions and build strategies that truly match your expectations.
